to fight for them.
Mercenaries
can be tempted
to overthrow the client power
by a coup d’état.
Mercenaries
are then in power or killed –
more violence reigns
or the spook is over.
Mercenaries exist
since weapons exist.
The latest mercenary group
is the Wagner Group
in Ukraine and Africa 2022-2023.
Its Founder and Head
Yevgeny Prigozhin
was killed by Russia 23/08/23
by an air crash.
500 years ago, in 1522,
the Protestant Reformer Zwingli in
Zurich called on Swiss Mercenaries
to quit the dirty killer job
and come back, earn a decent
living by skilled farming
and handicrafts in the home villages.
He promoted vocational schools.
